New Delhi’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken decisive action amid escalating regional conflicts. In a fresh circular, the board announced the postponement of two additional Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled for overseas centers in the Middle East.

The decision affects schools affiliated with CBSE in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Triggered by the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, this move prioritizes student safety in these volatile areas.

Exams set for March 5 (Thursday) and March 6 (Friday) stand deferred indefinitely. CBSE officials reviewed the precarious security situation on March 3, Tuesday, before issuing the directive. New dates for these exams will be announced later, with a further assessment planned for March 5 to decide on exams from March 7 onward.

‘Student welfare remains our top priority,’ the board emphasized. Schools and students in the region are urged to stay updated via official channels and their institutions. The circular, signed by CBSE Exam Controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, has been shared with Indian embassies and consulates across these nations, including Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tehran, and the Indian Consulate in Dubai.

CBSE exams kicked off on February 17 across 26 countries, including these Middle Eastern hubs. This marks the second postponement; exams originally slated for March 2 were also deferred. Meanwhile, tests proceed as scheduled in India and elsewhere globally.

The board assures timely updates aligned with evolving circumstances, underscoring its commitment to seamless education continuity despite geopolitical challenges.
