In a fiery address to business leaders in Siliguri, BJP National President Nitin Nabin unleashed a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her government of turning the state into a gateway for Bangladeshi infiltrators. Speaking on March 2, Nabin warned that unchecked illegal immigration is threatening India’s demographic balance and national security.

Nabin painted a grim picture of Bengal’s economic decline under Mamata’s rule. Once the powerhouse of India’s industry, contributing 10% to the national economy, West Bengal’s share has now dwindled to a mere 5%. ‘The state government has neglected this vital region,’ he asserted, holding the TMC regime responsible for the rapid downfall.

Corruption and violence have become hallmarks of Mamata’s Bengal, according to Nabin. The vibrant identity of West Bengal is being erased, he claimed, as locals are forced to flee while infiltrators are welcomed with open arms. Over 5 million names have been struck off voter lists, a clear sign of systematic settlement of outsiders, he alleged.

‘Your vote in this election isn’t just for Bengal—it’s for the security of the entire nation,’ Nabin urged the audience. He drew a sharp line: ‘Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians living in India will get their rights, but infiltrators from outside have no place here.’

Highlighting PM Modi’s welfare schemes for the poor and marginalized, Nabin accused Mamata of rushing to Delhi as a lawyer to defend Bangladeshi infiltrators whose names were removed from voter rolls. As tensions rise ahead of elections, Nabin’s words signal BJP’s aggressive push to reclaim Bengal from what he calls a ‘corrupt and violent’ administration.
