Gorakhpur is gearing up for a spectacular Holi celebration as Chief Minister Yogi Adityynath prepares to join the grand Bhakt Prahlad Shobha Yatra on Monday evening. The event, organized by the Sri Sri Holika Dahan Utsav Committee at Pandayhata, promises to infuse the city with festive fervor.
CM Yogi will personally perform the aarti of Bhakt Prahlad, play Holi with flowers, abeer, and gulal, and flag off the procession while extending Holi greetings to residents. This traditional procession revives the legendary tale of Prahlad’s devotion triumphing over evil.
According to officials, the Chief Minister will also participate in the Bhagwan Narsingh Shobha Yatra on March 4. Extensive preparations have been made by the district administration and police to ensure smooth conduct.
District Magistrate Deepak Meena confirmed that events near Ghantaghar, a staple of annual Holi festivities, are set for both days. The entire route has been inspected, with all officers on high alert and robust security measures in place.
SSP Dr. Kaustubh highlighted additional security in the heritage corridor under construction. The CM is expected to walk 100-200 meters interacting with the crowd, prompting meticulous pedestrian path preparations. Drone surveillance will further bolster monitoring across the route.
Authorities aim to make this year’s yatra historic and magnificent, leaving no stone unturned for crowd management, road safety, and event logistics. Citizens are urged to join the celebrations while adhering to safety protocols, ensuring Holi’s vibrancy shines through in full glory.
