In a charged political atmosphere in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister OP Rajbhar has weighed in on the ongoing protests by Shia Muslims following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Rajbhar attributed Khamenei’s demise to a joint US-Israel strike, explaining that supporters worldwide are voicing their outrage through demonstrations.

The Congress party has fired accusations at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, linking his recent Israel visit to prior knowledge of the impending attack on Iran. They condemned the killing of a prominent Muslim leader as unjust, criticizing the US for acting unilaterally and questioning Modi’s silence despite India’s ‘Vishwaguru’ aspirations.

Dismissing these claims, Rajbhar highlighted Modi’s consistent message of peace during international visits. He quoted the PM emphasizing unity, trade cooperation, and development over conflict, underscoring a commitment to harmonious global relations.

Rajbhar praised Modi’s Sunday conversation with Israel’s Prime Minister, where he stressed protecting innocent lives amid the crisis. Calling it a responsible stance, the minister insisted that action must target culprits only, sparing civilians from harm.

The discourse escalated with Maharashtra Minister Nitesh Rane’s provocative remarks, declaring India a Hindu nation prioritizing its 90% Hindu population. He mocked demands to withdraw police from protests, threatening swift repercussions. Rajbhar rebuked Rane sharply, labeling his words senseless and divisive, warning that such rhetoric fuels rumors without resolution.

As tensions simmer in Lucknow, Rajbhar’s balanced response seeks to navigate the delicate interplay of domestic politics and international events, urging restraint amid heightened emotions.
