In a sharp escalation of regional tensions, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have summoned Iranian diplomats to their foreign ministries in response to recent attacks targeting their capitals. Both nations condemned the strikes as blatant violations of sovereignty and international law, signaling deepening concerns over Iran’s role in destabilizing the Middle East.

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry in Amman called in the Iranian embassy charge d’affaires, delivering a stern protest against the assaults. According to a statement on social media platform X, the attacks deliberately targeted Jordanian territory and those of its Arab allies. Officials labeled them as grave breaches of sovereignty, clear violations of international law and the UN Charter, and unacceptable acts that endanger civilian safety and broader regional stability.

Spokesman Fuad Al-Majali emphasized that Jordan demands an immediate halt to such attacks, respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and adherence to global legal norms. ‘Jordan will take all necessary measures to protect its citizens and defend its sovereignty,’ he affirmed, underscoring the kingdom’s resolve amid rising threats.

Similarly, in Abu Dhabi, the UAE Foreign Ministry summoned Iranian Ambassador Reza Ameri, handing over a formal note of protest. The UAE vehemently denounced the ‘terrorist attacks,’ stressing that targeting its soil constitutes a severe infringement on national sovereignty, a direct threat to security, and a flagrant disregard for international agreements and norms.

Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar rejected any justifications for the hostile actions that endangered innocent lives at civilian sites. He highlighted the UAE’s firm policy against allowing its territory to be used for military operations against Iran, calling the incident a reckless disregard for neighborly relations and UN principles.

Al Marar warned of serious repercussions for bilateral ties, potentially impacting political, economic, and commercial spheres. This coordinated diplomatic backlash from Jordan and the UAE underscores growing alarm over Iran’s military activities and their fallout on civilian security and Middle Eastern stability.

As the region grapples with these provocations, international observers are watching closely for further developments that could reshape alliances and heighten conflict risks.
