In a heartfelt endorsement, Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar has lauded Home Minister Amit Shah’s poignant remarks on the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, during the 350th martyrdom anniversary celebrations in Maharashtra. Jakhar described Shah’s words as a profound reflection of the Hindu community’s sentiments, the BJP’s ideology, and the Modi government’s vision.

Posting on social media platform X on Monday, Jakhar highlighted how Shah’s speech at the Navi Mumbai event not only honors the Guru’s supreme sacrifice but also embodies the gratitude of a nation. ‘These words symbolize the thinking of the entire Hindu society, BJP, and the Government of India under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership,’ Jakhar wrote, emphasizing the Guru’s role in safeguarding Hinduism.

During the grand samagam, Shah paid homage to Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, noting that Prime Minister Modi’s decision to celebrate the 350th martyrdom day nationally is a matter of pride for all Indians. He underscored the Guru’s ultimate sacrifice: ‘Had Guru Teg Bahadur Ji not given his life to protect Hindu dharma and Hindus, not a single Hindu would have survived in the world.’

Shah recounted the historical moment when Kashmiri Pandits, facing forced conversions under Aurangzeb’s tyranny, sought refuge with the Guru. Without hesitation, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji stood up for their faith, enduring unimaginable tortures before his martyrdom in 1675. This act of valor cemented an eternal bond between the Guru and the Kashmiri Pandits worldwide.

The Home Minister also praised the core Sikh principles of unity, brotherhood, inclusivity, and bravery, as enshrined in the Guru Granth Sahib. Jakhar’s praise underscores the growing harmony between Sikh and Hindu communities under the current leadership, signaling a unified front against historical divisions.

This event revives the timeless legacy of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, whose sacrifice continues to inspire millions across faiths, reinforcing India’s pluralistic ethos in contemporary times.
