In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Jamui district, unidentified assailants opened fire on worshippers emerging from a mosque in Jakhra village under Sikandra police station limits late Sunday evening. The attack occurred around 7 PM, just as villagers finished prayers and broke their Roza after a day of fasting.

Four men sustained critical bullet injuries to their chests, necks, and shoulders during the barrage of 15-20 rounds fired indiscriminately. Eyewitnesses described a scene of utter chaos as panicked residents fled the area, with families rushing the victims to the local Sadar Hospital.

Medical teams, assessing the gravity of the wounds, quickly referred all four to Patna for advanced treatment. Among them, Numan Khan’s condition remains precarious, with doctors battling to stabilize him.

The victims have been identified as Numan Khan, son of Maqsood Khan; Mofiz Khan; Arbaaz Khan, son of Riyazkala Khan; and Armaan Khan, son of Aleem Khan—all residents of Jakhra village. Preliminary investigations point to a deep-seated feud originating six months ago over cattle grazing in farmlands, which escalated into a physical brawl and ongoing legal proceedings.

Authorities have named suspects including Rizwan Khan alias Nato, his son Numan Khan, Gufran Khan, Abdullah Khan, and Shameem Khan, who allegedly lay in wait near the mosque and fled after the shooting. Tension grips the village, divided into factions, prompting deployment of police from three stations to maintain order.

SDPO Satish Suman confirmed all perpetrators are identified based on victim statements. Specialized teams are conducting raids at likely hideouts, vowing swift arrests to restore peace in the volatile area. As families keep vigil by hospital bedsides, the community awaits justice amid heightened security.
