Patna, March 1: Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal expressed unwavering confidence in the Election Commission’s handling of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in West Bengal. Speaking exclusively to reporters here, he emphasized that the EC operates with complete transparency, ensuring no legitimate voter’s name is removed from the rolls.

The SIR drive, Jaiswal explained, is a routine exercise to cleanse voter lists by deleting entries of deceased individuals and duplicate names. ‘The Commission meticulously verifies every case,’ he said. ‘If any eligible voter is inadvertently omitted, they are promptly reinstated with full opportunity to prove their credentials.’

Turning his attention to the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Jaiswal sharply criticized the party’s announcement of four candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. ‘These are not leaders connected to the people,’ he remarked. ‘TMC handpicks individuals with zero public rapport, far removed from grassroots realities.’

On AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s planned Jantar Mantar meeting, the minister noted that a high court appeal is underway. ‘The request hasn’t been thoroughly reviewed yet, prompting the notice. The court, having examined similar cases, will decide. Kejriwal shouldn’t celebrate prematurely.’

In a heartfelt note, Jaiswal extended birthday wishes to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, hailing his visionary leadership as the driving force behind the state’s all-round development, good governance, and social harmony. ‘May God grant you long life, robust health, and strength for continued public service,’ he prayed.

Minister Vijay Chaudhary echoed similar sentiments, praising Nitish Kumar’s stewardship in propelling Bihar toward new peaks of progress, governance, and social justice.
