In a shocking incident from Bihar’s Rohtas district, a 28-year-old disabled man met a gruesome end after answering a midnight summons from his married lover. Shailendra Kumar Singh, who had a physical disability in one leg, was lured to her home where her husband and family members allegedly beat him to death in a fit of rage.
The tragedy unfolded in Baradhi village under the Mufassil police station limits. According to family members, Shailendra had been in a prolonged affair with Ragini Mishra, a local married woman. On Saturday night, she reportedly called him over, blind to the dangers that awaited. Unaware of his fate, Shailendra left home, thinking it was just another secret rendezvous.
As soon as he entered her room, Ragini’s husband, Daddu Mishra, and other relatives caught him red-handed. Unable to flee or defend himself due to his disability, Shailendra became an easy target for the furious mob. They mercilessly thrashed him with sticks and rods until he breathed his last on the spot.
Come morning, the room revealed a horrifying scene: Shailendra’s blood-soaked body sprawled on the floor. His father, Lal Badan Singh, alerted the police via 112. Officers from Mufassil station rushed to the scene, secured the body, and sent it for postmortem at Sasaram Sadar Hospital.
Swift action followed as Daddu Mishra was arrested on murder charges. A case has been registered, and investigations into the roles of other family members are underway. The station house officer confirmed that preliminary findings point to death by assault, with further steps pending the postmortem report.
This chilling case highlights the deadly perils of forbidden love in rural India, where family honor often turns fatal. Authorities urge caution and promise justice for the victim.
