New Delhi’s political landscape remains unshaken despite the release of former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the controversial liquor policy case. Congress senior leader Sandeep Dikshit dismissed any significant impact from Kejriwal’s freedom, asserting that whether he stays out or returns to jail, Delhi’s dynamics won’t shift.
In an exclusive conversation, Dikshit pointed to what he sees as a clear collusion between the BJP and AAP. ‘Yesterday’s release of Kejriwal confirms what we’ve been saying all along – there’s a secret pact at play,’ he stated firmly. He predicted this outcome earlier in the day, emphasizing that BJP needs Kejriwal as a tool against Congress in upcoming elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand, and beyond.
Dikshit refused to label the AAP leaders as innocent. ‘I’m not claiming judicial interference, but the CBI’s two-year probe seems suspiciously weak,’ he remarked. He questioned why the case wasn’t properly built if genuine evidence existed, suggesting it was engineered for political leverage.
Shifting focus to Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib’s bail, Dikshit called the arrest itself baffling. ‘Protests are the lifeblood of Indian democracy,’ he argued. Recalling instances where BJP workers tore papers in front of former PM Manmohan Singh, he defended the right to dissent at events like the AI Summit. ‘Governments can’t dictate opposition protests,’ Dikshit added, optimistic that courts will vindicate the Youth Congress workers.
As Delhi gears up for more political drama, Dikshit’s words underscore deep skepticism towards the AAP-BJP nexus, urging voters to look beyond courtroom theatrics.
