New Delhi’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a high-stakes probe into allegations of disproportionate assets against a senior Ordnance Factory Service officer. The case targets the former Chief General Manager of the Ordnance Equipment Factory in Hazratpur, Firozabad. Currently posted at the Troop Comforts Limited Training Academy in Kanpur, the 1998-batch officer stands accused of amassing unexplained wealth.

The agency registered the FIR on February 26, following a detailed preliminary inquiry. Investigations revealed that between April 1, 2022, and December 31, 2025, the officer acquired assets worth approximately Rs 55.58 lakh—equivalent to 73.28% more than his known sources of income. This glaring discrepancy prompted swift action from the anti-corruption watchdog.

Armed with court-issued search warrants, CBI teams swooped down on five locations across Agra, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Kanpur on February 27. The raids uncovered a treasure trove of incriminating evidence, including documents related to immovable properties, bank passbooks, credit cards, and vehicles. Three residential properties came to light: one flat in Agra purchased in 2025 and another in Lucknow acquired in 2023, with a third in Bareilly.

The searches yielded Rs 49 lakh in jewelry and Rs 5 lakh in cash from the Agra and Lucknow residences. Investigators also seized records of various expenditures and investments, painting a picture of systematic wealth accumulation beyond legitimate earnings. As the CBI delves deeper, this case underscores the agency’s relentless pursuit of public servants who betray their oath through corrupt practices.

With the net tightening, further interrogations and financial trails are being pursued. The officer’s career, once marked by key postings in defense manufacturing, now hangs in the balance amid this corruption storm. Stay tuned for updates as this investigation unfolds.
