In a heartwarming display of empowerment, women from Rohtas district in Bihar are witnessing a significant rise in their incomes thanks to the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. The initiative, aimed at supporting traditional artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs, has opened new avenues for financial independence.

District Magistrate Udit Singh inaugurated a three-day exhibition-cum-trade fair at Sasaram Railway Ground under the scheme. This event showcased the remarkable handiwork of local beneficiaries, particularly women who have transformed their lives through skill development and modern tools provided by the program.

Rohtas, traditionally an agriculture-dominated region, is swiftly evolving into a hub for small industries. Government schemes like PM Vishwakarma are playing a pivotal role in this shift, encouraging residents to embrace self-employment and entrepreneurship.

During the event, DM Singh inspected various stalls brimming with handmade products ranging from stitched garments to innovative toys. She even made purchases to support the artisans, drawing attention to the quality and creativity on display.

Beneficiaries shared inspiring stories of change. Ruby Devi, a widow raising two children, recounted how the scheme provided her with a sewing machine that multiplied her tailoring business. ‘Earlier, I barely managed,’ she said. ‘Now, my work has expanded, and I thank Prime Minister Modi wholeheartedly.’

Similarly, differently-abled Reeva Kumari, who specializes in embroidery, urged other women to join. ‘This scheme ends unemployment and brings real benefits,’ she emphasized. Usha Devi, crafting teddy bears and toys, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the scheme’s role in uplifting families.

The fair not only promoted local products but also fostered a sense of community and aspiration. As more women step forward, Rohtas is setting an example of how targeted government interventions can drive economic growth at the grassroots level. The success stories from this event underscore the transformative power of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, promising a brighter future for many.
