Lucknow is gearing up for a spectacular showcase of young girls’ talents as the state-level Bal Utsav unfolds on March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day. This grand event, organized under the Samagra Shiksha initiative, will bring together selected participants from every district of Uttar Pradesh to demonstrate their cultural prowess, creative skills, and intellectual abilities.

Starting with arrivals on March 7, the festival promises a vibrant array of activities on the following day. Girls from across the state, chosen through rigorous district-level selections, will take center stage in performances that highlight their confidence and leadership potential. This initiative aligns perfectly with the vision of ‘Sashakt Balika – Samriddh Uttar Pradesh,’ emphasizing how opportunities can empower girls to excel in every field.

Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh highlighted the event’s significance, stating it provides a powerful platform for girls to exhibit their talents and build self-assurance. The government’s commitment to equipping every girl with education, identity, and opportunities aims to groom them as future leaders.

The festival will feature cultural presentations, art competitions, innovation challenges, and intellectual contests, all designed to foster healthy competition and teamwork. Participants will not only display their skills but also reflect the rich cultural diversity and educational vibrancy of Uttar Pradesh. Special recognition and certifications at the state level will honor these young achievers.

Director General of School Education, Monica Rani, added that the Bal Utsav offers a unique chance for girls to express themselves creatively and intellectually while boosting their confidence. This event underscores the transformative power of providing stages, guidance, and respect to budding talents, proving that UP’s girls are ready to carve new identities across domains.
