QUETTA, Feb 26 – Shocking reports have emerged from Balochistan, where the Pakistani military stands accused of executing two civilians without trial. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a prominent human rights group, revealed these atrocities amid a surge in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the restive province.

Nasram Baloch’s mutilated body was discovered on Thursday along the Maksheen River area. The 1.5-year ordeal of enforced disappearance left clear torture marks on his corpse. A resident of Buleida in Kech district, Nasram was first abducted by Pakistani forces on October 12, 2023. His family protested vehemently, leading to his temporary release on June 13, 2024. During captivity, he endured severe beatings that triggered hepatitis and permanent injuries.

Tragedy struck again on August 8, 2024, when armed men stormed his Buleida home, assaulting his mother and sister before dragging him away. BYC highlighted this as part of a systematic pattern of state-sponsored terror against Baloch civilians.

In a parallel incident, the body of student Aweis Baloch was dumped at Civil Hospital in Panjgur district on February 24. Abducted from his home the previous day, the young man’s death underscores the relentless violence plaguing the region. ‘This is not isolated; it’s a painful pattern of enforced disappearances and kill-and-dump operations by those sworn to protect citizens,’ BYC stated.

The organization condemned these lawless acts and urged the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International to investigate Pakistan’s military abuses in Balochistan immediately. As international scrutiny mounts, the cries for justice from Balochistan grow louder, demanding an end to this cycle of impunity.
