As Holi approaches, the Food Safety and Drug Administration in Gautam Buddh Nagar has launched a rigorous inspection drive to ensure consumers get pure sweets and snacks. District Magistrate’s directives prompted teams to raid various food outlets, collecting samples of popular festival items for lab testing.

The initiative aims to protect public health during the vibrant festival season. Assistant Commissioner Food Second, Suresh Mishra, confirmed a special campaign is underway. In one operation, Food Safety Officer Mukesh Kumar and Vijay Bahadur Patel’s team sampled prepared lentils from a local vendor.

Further checks at a shop in Udyog Vihar Ecotech-3, Greater Noida, yielded a khoya sample. Teams led by Food Safety Officers Ravindra Nath Verma and Malti collected namkeen from a store in Yamuna Gour City, Dankaur, and khoya from another on Sikandrabad Road, Dankaur.

In Sector-49, Barola, Officers O.P. Singh and S.K. Pandey secured samples of kalakand and besan laddoos. A mithai shop in Sector-63, Noida, provided gujiya to Officers Amar Bahadur Saroj and Ritu Saxena’s team. Meanwhile, at a dairy on Railway Road, Dadri, Officers Vishal Gupta and Syed Ibadullah took a ghee sample.

Eight samples in total have been dispatched to laboratories. Mishra warned that the drive will continue relentlessly. Any detection of adulteration or substandard quality will trigger strict action under the Food Safety and Standards Act. Authorities are determined to eliminate food adulteration, guaranteeing safe festivities for residents.
