New Delhi witnessed a sharp political exchange as BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha fired back at opposition voices questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Israel visit. Sinha didn’t mince words, accusing the Congress party of developing a sudden ‘stomach ache’ whenever India earns global acclaim.

Speaking exclusively to media on Thursday, Sinha highlighted the unprecedented honors bestowed upon Modi during his Israel trip. ‘We all saw how PM Modi received Israel’s highest civilian award, the Speaker of the Knesset honor,’ he noted. Remarkably, Modi also holds Palestine’s highest accolade, making him the only leader to achieve this dual recognition from two nations locked in longstanding conflict.

This rare feat, Sinha argued, underscores Modi’s diplomatic prowess, yet it appears to irk the Congress. He directly targeted Congress leader Pawan Khera for his recent press conference remarks criticizing Modi’s foreign policy. ‘It’s regrettable that Khera spouted baseless claims,’ Sinha said, pointing out that India-Israel ties could have strengthened much earlier but for Congress’s alleged duplicity.

Sinha drew attention to a shared challenge: both Israel and Palestine suffer from terrorism, a point Modi emphasized in his address. While Modi swiftly condemned the 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel, Congress has yet to label it a terrorist act or issue any condemnation, according to Sinha.

The BJP leader also celebrated Modi’s soaring social media fandom. ‘The exponential growth in PM Modi’s followers is praiseworthy, rivaling top celebrities,’ he said. Over the past two decades, Modi’s unwavering commitment to national interest has built this massive support base, reflecting his global stature and domestic appeal.

As India’s international prestige rises under Modi’s leadership, political rivals seem increasingly uncomfortable, setting the stage for more heated debates ahead.
