New Delhi witnessed a heartwarming success story from the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch as their Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully located and reunited two missing minors with their families. The operations, marked by meticulous investigations, highlight the force’s commitment to child safety amid rising concerns over runaway cases.
In the first incident, a 13-year-old girl went missing on November 24, 2025, prompting a report at Ghazipur police station. Recognizing the urgency, the case was transferred to AHTU under the supervision of ACP Suresh Kumar. Led by Inspector Mukesh Kumar and Sub-Inspector Vishal Gupta, the team gathered crucial details from the girl’s parents and local residents. Leveraging surveillance footage and targeted inquiries, they traced her to the bustling Paharganj area.
Investigations revealed a domestic trigger: the girl, an avid social media user, had been scolded by her parents for excessive screen time. Upset, she stormed out of the home. Safely recovered, she was handed over to her relieved family, who expressed profound gratitude to the police.
The second case involved a 16-year-old boy reported missing from Ranahola police station on February 24. Inspector Manoj Dahiya, along with Head Constable Ajit and Constable Ashok Kumar, conducted thorough interviews with the boy’s family, relatives, and friends. The eighth-grade student, son of a laborer father and homemaker mother with two brothers and four sisters, had gone for tuition in the neighborhood and stayed over at a classmate’s place afterward.
Swift verification at the spot led to his recovery from Shyam Vihar in Ranahola. Both rescues underscore the importance of community cooperation and vigilant policing in preventing potential exploitation of vulnerable children. Families rejoiced, praising the Delhi Police for their prompt action and dedication.
