Araria, Bihar – In a resolute address, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Thursday that the Modi government is committed to rooting out every single intruder from Indian soil. ‘This is not merely an electoral promise; it is the firm resolve of the central government,’ Shah asserted while inaugurating Border Out Posts ‘Leti’ and ‘Indarwa’ in Araria district.
Speaking at the e-inauguration and e-foundation stone laying ceremony for various Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) projects, Shah emphasized that action is imminent. ‘We will handpick and deport each infiltrator. It’s no longer just a promise – we are about to execute it,’ he said.
Highlighting infrastructure advancements, the Home Minister noted that under the India-Nepal border road scheme, 556 kilometers of border roads have been approved. Of the 18 segments, 14 are complete, with the remaining four progressing swiftly. ‘Once finished, these roads will enhance surveillance capabilities, improve civilian facilities, and extend development programs to the farthest borders,’ he added.
Praising the SSB for securing the friendly border with Nepal, Shah cautioned against complacency. ‘While relations with Nepal are cordial, we must remain vigilant against enemies and anti-national elements exploiting this route,’ he warned. He stressed the need for sharp intelligence, robust local networks, and strong engagement with border villages to gather accurate information.
Shah announced a comprehensive drive to demolish all illegal encroachments within 10 km of the border and identify infiltrators for deportation. ‘Regions like Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar have suffered the most from demographic changes due to infiltration,’ he observed, predicting a BJP government in Bengal post-elections with border fencing and expulsion as top priorities.
Addressing the people of Seemanchal, Shah sought their support. ‘Usually, leaders remind voters of promises, but today I ask you to remind me. Infiltrators don’t just sway elections; they encroach on rations for the poor, diminish youth employment opportunities, and pose a grave national security threat.’ He assured that the campaign to remove intruders would soon launch in Seemanchal.
