Ayodhya is buzzing with anticipation as preparations kick off for Chaitra Navratri, set to begin on March 19, culminating in Ram Navami on March 27. This sacred period draws millions to Lord Ram’s birthplace, and local authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure smooth darshan for devotees.
District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram chaired a crucial meeting with officials and temple trust representatives to streamline crowd management and bolster security. ‘With the Ram Mandir attracting unprecedented footfalls since its inauguration, we expect even larger crowds this year,’ he stated. The temple gates remain open throughout the nine days, accommodating local and international pilgrims alike.
A highlight of the festivities will be President Droupadi Murmu’s visit on the first day of Navratri. Special security protocols are being activated for her arrival, including enhanced surveillance and personnel deployment. With a month to go, multiple coordination meetings are underway to handle the projected surge of 4-5 crore visitors annually.
The administration is focusing on devotee convenience, implementing staggered darshan timings, expanded parking, and medical camps. Ram Navami, celebrating Lord Ram’s birth, promises to be a grand affair with elaborate rituals at the newly constructed temple and surrounding shrines. Ayodhya’s transformation into a global spiritual hub underscores the meticulous planning to blend tradition with modern logistics, ensuring every pilgrim’s experience is seamless and secure.
