Tel Aviv buzzed with excitement as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a landmark two-day visit, marking his return after nine years. Netanyahu described the trip as historic, emphasizing the deep personal friendship that underpins the robust bilateral ties between Israel and India.

In a heartfelt post on X, Netanyahu shared, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back in Israel after nine years for a two-day visit. My wife Sara and I welcomed our good friend, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. This will be another historic visit for Israel.’ He reminisced about Modi’s 2017 visit and his own reciprocal trip to India, highlighting their frequent conversations and close bond.

The leaders outlined a packed itinerary, including a festive reception at the Knesset, an innovation event in Jerusalem, and a joint dinner. The following day features a visit to Yad Vashem and high-level meetings where teams will ink agreements in economic, security, and diplomatic spheres to propel cooperation forward.

PM Modi reciprocated the warmth on X, thanking Netanyahu for the gracious welcome. ‘Had a very good meeting with PM Netanyahu. Thank you for the warm welcome earlier in the day. Delighted to be back in Israel after nine years. We discussed several subjects to further deepen our relations. Technology, water management, agriculture, talent partnership – immense potential for close cooperation in many such sectors. Also discussed developments in the region,’ he posted.

Modi’s agenda extends to discussions with President Isaac Herzog, addressing the Israeli parliament, and participating in various events. This visit reinforces the strategic partnership, built on shared values and mutual interests, promising enhanced collaboration amid global challenges.

As both nations navigate complex geopolitics, the Modi-Netanyahu camaraderie stands as a beacon of stability, fostering innovation and security ties that benefit millions.
