Jalandhar erupted in pride today as Punjab Police formally inducted 2,577 fresh officers and constables during a grand passing-out parade at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) campus. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took the salute, marking a significant boost to the state’s law enforcement.
DGP Gaurav Yadav expressed heartfelt gratitude to CM Mann for gracing the event. In a post on X, he highlighted how these trainees, honed at elite institutions like MRS PAP Phillaur, PRTS Jahan Khelan, and ISTC Kapurthala, are now ready to serve Punjab with unmatched skill and dedication.
Addressing the jawans, CM Mann congratulated them on joining a force renowned for its bravery. ‘Punjab Police stands tall for its courage and resolve,’ he said, welcoming nearly 2,600 new members into the fold. He announced plans for recruiting another 3,400 youth by 2026, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening policing.
Mann reflected on the historic mandate of March 2022, which enabled transformative reforms. ‘We’ve modernized Punjab Police with cutting-edge facilities, never skimping on budgets,’ he affirmed. He referenced a recent Gurdaspur incident linked to Pakistan, where two suspects were arrested and one neutralized in an encounter, showcasing the force’s vigilance.
Punjab’s training centers are the envy of other states, drawing requests for slots. However, capacity constraints limit expansion. This induction promises a safer Punjab, with these dedicated recruits stepping up to protect and serve.
