In a decisive blow to terrorist networks, the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), conducted a high-stakes operation in the dense Gani forest area of Poonch district. Dubbed ‘Operation Gani,’ this joint mission was launched on credible intelligence inputs, uncovering a massive cache of arms and explosives hidden in a concealed cave.
Security forces moved with precision through the rugged terrain, their coordinated search yielding deadly discoveries: a 4.5 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED), an 800-gram smaller IED, two Chinese grenades, a 9mm pistol, two 9mm cartridges, and 22 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. Bomb disposal squads swiftly neutralized the IEDs and grenades on site, averting potential devastation to civilians and troops alike.
This success underscores the relentless vigilance along the Line of Control (LoC), where Poonch remains a hotspot for infiltration attempts from across the border. The operation, rooted in joint intelligence from army sources and local police, exemplifies flawless teamwork that dismantled hidden terror infrastructure.
Authorities have registered a case at Mendhar police station, with ongoing searches to root out further threats.
