Jerusalem is buzzing with anticipation as Israeli President Isaac Herzog warmly welcomes Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his two-day state visit. In a heartfelt message on X, Herzog expressed the nation’s eagerness to host the Indian leader, underscoring the deep bonds between the two countries.
This visit marks PM Modi’s return to Israel since his groundbreaking 2017 trip, which revolutionized cooperation in defense, agriculture, and water management. Departing from India, Modi highlighted his excitement for meetings with his counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, aimed at bolstering ties across multiple sectors.
‘My friend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited me for a state visit to Israel on February 25-26,’ Modi stated in his departure remarks. He emphasized the robust strategic partnership that has seen tremendous growth in recent years, spanning science, technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense, security, trade, and people-to-people connections.
Discussions will also cover regional and global issues of mutual interest. Beyond Netanyahu, Modi is scheduled to meet President Herzog and address the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, in a gesture celebrating strong parliamentary and democratic ties.
In an X post, Modi announced, ‘This evening, I will address the Israeli Parliament, Knesset. This is a tribute to the strong parliamentary and democratic ties between us.’ The visit promises to elevate India-Israel relations to new heights, building on shared values and strategic interests in a complex global landscape.
