A devastating air ambulance crash in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Monday evening claimed seven lives, including a patient, family members, pilot, co-pilot, doctor, and medical staff. The tragedy struck like lightning, leaving families in utter shock and grief. Among the victims was co-pilot Swarajdeep Singh, a young professional who had joined duty just one-and-a-half years ago, turning what should have been a promising career into a heartbreaking story.

Swarajdeep hailed from Govind Nagar in Amritsar, Punjab. News of the crash spread like wildfire, plunging his neighborhood into mourning. Married for two years with a young son, he was the pride of his family. Neighbors recall him as a kind-hearted, sociable man who respected elders and honored his parents. The sudden loss has shattered everyone who knew him.

Hours before the fatal flight from Ranchi to Delhi, Swarajdeep called his mother, assuring her he would phone again upon landing. But when two hours passed without a call, worry turned to panic. Confirmation came via news channels and an email from the company, confirming the unthinkable.

Local leaders like councilor Inderjeet Singh Pandori and neighbor Amardeep Singh described the incident as profoundly tragic. ‘Losing a young son like this is unbearable for any parent,’ they said. The community is demanding stricter aviation safety checks to prevent future disasters. As the region mourns, Swarajdeep’s story serves as a poignant reminder of life’s fragility in high-stakes professions.
