Patna, February 24: Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal unleashed a sharp critique against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, blaming him for sinking the party’s fortunes. Speaking on the sidelines of an event, Jaiswal condemned the Congress workers’ shirtless protest at the AI Summit, calling it a desperate and embarrassing stunt. ‘Rahul Gandhi’s anti-national mindset is dragging the Congress boat to the bottom,’ he declared, adding that the incident has drawn nationwide condemnation.
Jaiswal revealed that several senior Congress leaders privately admit Rahul is unfit to lead the party. This comes amid ongoing political turbulence in Bihar, where the BJP is ramping up its attacks on the opposition ahead of key elections.
Shifting focus to state initiatives, the minister highlighted Bihar’s bold move to ban open sales of non-vegetarian food at public and religious sites. ‘This step will foster discipline and create a cleaner, more positive atmosphere across our society,’ Jaiswal explained. He emphasized that the measure aims to enhance social harmony without infringing on personal choices.
On the economic front, Jaiswal painted an optimistic picture of Bihar’s industrial growth. The Industries Department is aggressively courting investors, with Shyam Steel already committing Rs 5,000 crore and Shakti & Awadh Steel proposing Rs 6,000 crore. ‘These investments will generate thousands of jobs and propel Bihar towards economic prosperity,’ he asserted, underscoring the Nitish Kumar government’s development agenda.
In a somber note, Jaiswal expressed profound grief over the tragic air ambulance crash in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. The Ranchi-Delhi flight carrying seven people, including a doctor, paramedic, attendants, and pilots, plummeted into a forested area shortly after takeoff. ‘This heartbreaking incident has left us all devastated. My thoughts are with the bereaved families,’ he said, learning of the mishap via social media.
