Singapore/Lucknow, February 24: On the second day of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s high-stakes visit to Singapore, the state has clinched a major investment deal that promises to supercharge its aviation and logistics sectors. In a landmark agreement, the UP government, under CM Yogi’s leadership, signed an MoU with SATS Ltd., a global leader in aviation services.
The pact paves the way for SATS to invest a whopping Rs 4,458 crore (approximately $540 million) in two cutting-edge projects at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar. The first is a state-of-the-art cargo complex designed to handle massive air freight volumes, positioning it as the nerve center for northern India’s logistics hub.
This cargo facility will streamline export-import operations, particularly boosting sectors like electronics, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products. With Jewar Airport’s multi-modal connectivity—linking roads, rails, and airways—this complex is set to emerge as a strategic gateway for international trade, driving economic growth across the region.
Complementing this, SATS will also build a world-class air catering kitchen at the same airport. This facility won’t just serve flights departing from Jewar; it will supply high-quality meals to airports throughout northern India, fortifying the food processing and supply chain ecosystem.
The move is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, empowering local communities and attracting ancillary industries. CM Yogi’s Singapore tour underscores UP’s aggressive push to woo global investors, highlighting the state’s investor-friendly policies and infrastructure boom.
As Jewar Airport gears up for operations, these initiatives will redefine northern India’s economic landscape, cementing Uttar Pradesh’s position as a powerhouse on the global map. This MoU marks yet another feather in the cap for the state’s aviation ambitions, signaling brighter prospects ahead.
