Patna, February 24: In a scathing attack on the ruling NDA government, Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav accused them of turning the state into the nation’s poorest and most jobless region over the past 21 years. Speaking to the media after a heated exchange in the state assembly, Yadav didn’t hold back, painting a grim picture of Bihar’s decline under Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
‘Bihar’s misfortune is having an unresponsive Chief Minister who fails to act on rampant crimes,’ Yadav declared. He highlighted how, despite 21 years of NDA rule, the state lags in every key metric: lowest per capita income, highest unemployment, massive migration, and zero industrial investment. Education, health, and sports sectors are in shambles, he claimed.
Yadav pointed to a surge in crime, corruption, misgovernance, authoritarianism, and bureaucratic overreach. ‘The state treasury is empty due to massive corruption, and soon even salaries for government employees will be impossible to pay,’ he warned, citing a severe financial crisis in the budget.
Despite repeated questions on law and order—from murders and robberies to rapes—the government remains silent, Yadav alleged. ‘They distract with gimmicks instead of answers.’ He reiterated calls for action, slamming the CM’s health as a convenient excuse for inaction.
As elections loom, Yadav’s rhetoric underscores deepening political divides in Bihar, where opposition demands accountability amid public frustration over stalled progress.
