Ahmedabad, February 23: In a sharp critique, BJP leader Rohan Gupta accused the Congress party of caring little for India’s global reputation, solely focused on polishing their political image at any cost.

Speaking exclusively to IANS in Ahmedabad, Gupta lambasted Congress leaders for chasing cheap publicity through sensational antics. ‘They thrive on headlines, even if it means storming events and risking the nation’s honor,’ he said. ‘The Youth Congress’s disruption at the AI Summit is a prime example – they’re justifying hooliganism inside a prestigious venue, all for fleeting fame.’

Gupta drew parallels to past incidents, noting that Commonwealth Games protests stayed outside stadiums, unlike this blatant indoor disruption. ‘Congress’s desperation knows no bounds. They’re invoking Mahatma Gandhi’s name while tarnishing India’s stature on the world stage,’ he added.

Turning to Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks against PM Modi, Gupta dismissed them as routine opposition tactics. ‘This isn’t new – they’ve hurled personal attacks before, like during Bihar elections, only to face voter backlash. Such low tactics harm the opposition more than anyone.’

Echoing PM Modi’s views, Gupta highlighted Congress’s electoral defeats and false allegations of vote theft. ‘Pushed to the margins after losses in every state, they’re now attacking national pride to stay relevant. But the public rejects negative politics. Congress’s bid to run a politics shop on India’s identity is doomed to fail.’

As India rises globally, Gupta urged parties to prioritize national interests over petty games. The public’s growing awareness ensures such antics will backfire, he concluded, predicting further isolation for Congress.
