New Delhi is buzzing with a bold new initiative aimed at turbocharging India’s digital skills revolution. The ‘Grow Here, Connect Here’ campaign, launched to fuel the vision of a developed India, has roped in Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan as its face. This nationwide awareness drive seeks to bridge the skills gap in an era dominated by AI, automation, and digital innovation.
Skills Development Minister Jayant Chaudhary kicked off the campaign on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Bachchan’s massive popularity is expected to draw millions to the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), the country’s largest integrated digital skilling platform. Already boasting over 15 million registered users, SIDH offers mobile-first, AI-powered courses tailored to industry needs.
From personalized career guidance to QR-code enabled digital resumes, SIDH integrates multiple government schemes into one seamless ecosystem. Available in over 21 Indian languages with Aadhaar-based e-KYC and OTP verification, it ensures inclusivity for students, graduates, professionals, and entrepreneurs alike.
“India stands at the cusp of technological transformation,” Chaudhary emphasized. “Every citizen must equip themselves with future-ready skills.” The campaign will flood digital platforms, social media, and app ecosystems, featuring visuals of diverse Indians – youth, women, professionals, and differently-abled – united in the pursuit of growth.
This isn’t just another program; it’s a strategic push toward lifelong learning and self-reliant India. By democratizing access to quality skilling, SIDH removes barriers of language, information, and credibility, leveling the playing field for all. As Bachchan’s baritone echoes ‘Grow Here, Connect Here,’ expect a surge in registrations and a skilled workforce ready to power Viksit Bharat.
