In a scathing attack on Rajasthan’s BJP government, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has declared that law and order in the state is gasping for breath on a ventilator ever since the ‘Parchi government’ took over. Speaking from New Delhi, Gehlot highlighted the horrifying incident in Bikaner’s Ranjitpura where a minor girl student was abducted, raped, and brutally murdered while on her way to an exam.

Gehlot took to social media platform X to express his outrage, calling the crime not just an isolated act but a deep stain on Rajasthan’s honor. ‘Our daughters are now terrified to step out of their homes,’ he lamented, questioning how the state has been plunged into such a inferno of crime. He urged Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to step away from empty announcements and photo-ops to address the crumbling law enforcement.

The shocking details of the case have sent shockwaves across the region. The eighth-grade student from the Sain community was subjected to unimaginable brutality, sparking widespread fury. Gehlot demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators, a fast-track court trial, and the harshest possible punishment to set a precedent. ‘Rajasthan can no longer tolerate these screams,’ he asserted.

Echoing these sentiments, Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra described the incident as heart-wrenching and shameful for the entire state. He accused the BJP regime of complete failure on women’s safety, noting that girls are now scared to even go to school. With the government in deep slumber, Dotasra called for swift action against the culprits to restore some semblance of justice.

This tragedy underscores a broader crisis in Rajasthan’s security apparatus under BJP rule. As political rhetoric intensifies, the pressing question remains: will the government wake up before more lives are lost to this reign of terror? The opposition’s demands for accountability grow louder amid mounting public anger.
