Beijing, February 22 – For the third consecutive year, Moscow erupted in grand festivities marking the Chinese Spring Festival in 2026. Starting from New Year’s Eve, Manежnaya Square and other key locations buzzed with daily activities, including vibrant Spring Festival markets and captivating cultural performances.
A special Moscow Metro train themed around the Spring Festival was launched, while iconic landmarks across the city glowed in auspicious Chinese red hues, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
In Venezuela, the Chinese Embassy recently hosted a ‘Happy Chinese New Year’ event at the National Palace of Arts in Caracas. Local attendee Comenares remarked, ‘The friendship between Venezuelan and Chinese people is unbreakable. We extend our heartfelt wishes to the Chinese community for the New Year.’
Meanwhile, the Wuxi National Orchestra from China’s Jiangsu Province delivered a thrilling folk music concert at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie in Germany. Nearly 2,000 audience members were treated to lively performances celebrating the Spring Festival.
In Belgium, the Chinese Embassy partnered with the Alliance of Overseas Chinese Associations to organize the ‘Chinese New Year Garden Fair’ in Dinant. Crowds flocked to the event, immersed in a festive atmosphere. Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Clarinwel stated, ‘As we all know, Belgium and China share close and friendly ties. On behalf of Belgium, I offer heartfelt greetings and New Year blessings to everyone.’
On the first day of the Chinese New Year, Toronto’s famed CN Tower in Canada was illuminated in red lights to welcome the Year of the Horse.
Nepal’s Ralidepur witnessed the launch of a spectacular Chinese New Year Lantern Festival. Guests posed for photos amid glowing lanterns, with traditional Chinese and Nepali performances elevating the celebrations. Nepal’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation expressed, ‘I hope your lives shine as brightly as these lanterns. I believe China’s governance will build a brighter future.’
