New Delhi, February 22: In a sharp rebuttal to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s recent remarks, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dharmshila Gupta asserted that women in Bihar are safer than ever under the NDA government. Dismissing Rabri’s claims as utterly false, Gupta emphasized the current administration’s unwavering commitment to women’s security and delivering justice to daughters of the state.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Gupta highlighted the tragic case of the NEET aspirant that has gripped the nation. ‘She is our daughter too, and we all want swift justice for her,’ she declared. With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the matter, Gupta expressed confidence in a fair outcome. She contrasted this with the ‘jungle raj’ era under Rabri Devi’s rule, crediting the present NDA regime for tirelessly strengthening law and order.
Rabri Devi had questioned the Bihar government’s handling of the NEET student’s incident, prompting Gupta’s fierce response. The MP underscored that the state machinery is fully dedicated to protecting women and ensuring culprits face the law.
Shifting focus to national politics, Gupta condemned the Youth Congress’s protest at the AI Summit in Delhi. ‘Attempting to tarnish India’s image on an international stage is deplorable,’ she said, noting the presence of global leaders. She urged Congress leaders to emulate Sonia Gandhi, who, despite her foreign origins, commands universal respect in India.
Gupta accused the Congress of desperate tactics signaling their decline, vowing that efforts to defame India globally will not be tolerated. Her statements come amid heightened political tensions, reinforcing BJP’s narrative of robust governance in Bihar.
