In a shocking turn of events from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, a 60-year-old private school principal, Rakesh Shah, has eloped with his 28-year-old teacher, Shaishta Parveen, defying age gaps, religious differences, and societal norms. The couple secretly tied the knot in a Nepalese temple, and their wedding photos have exploded across social media, sparking outrage from Shaishta’s Muslim family.

Rakesh runs a small private school in the Aurai area, where Shaishta worked as a teacher. What began as a professional relationship blossomed into romance over time. On February 18, they vanished without a trace. Whispers in the community suggest they crossed the border into Nepal, exchanged garlands in a sacred temple, invoking divine blessings for their union.

A viral video circulating online shows a beaming Shaishta addressing the camera directly. She firmly states that the marriage was her choice, expresses complete satisfaction with her new life, and urges everyone to leave her husband and his family alone. She denies any abduction, emphasizing her happiness.

Contrast this with the fury from Shaishta’s family. Her brother filed a police complaint at Aurai station, accusing Rakesh—a father of four—of kidnapping her with intentions of forced marriage and conversion. The FIR names seven people, including Rakesh’s wife and daughter, painting a picture of a sinister plot.

Tensions are high in the village, given the interfaith angle. Rakesh’s school and home stand deserted, padlocked amid the chaos. Local police, led by Station House Officer Raja Singh, are investigating thoroughly, verifying the authenticity of the viral video. Extra patrols roam the streets to prevent any escalation.

This extraordinary love story challenges deep-seated traditions, leaving the community divided. As investigations continue, one question lingers: will love triumph over familial wrath and legal battles?
