In a remarkable display of public service, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai celebrated his 62nd birthday by inaugurating a blood donation camp. The event kicked off with a traditional puja to Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of Ayurveda, followed by the CM honoring the donors and urging more people to join the noble cause.
Organized by Alpha Globe Foundation, Raipur, and Shivnath Blood Center, the camp saw 62 dedicated volunteers contribute blood, matching the CM’s age. Speaking at the occasion, Sai emphasized that blood donation is the ultimate act of humanity. ‘In times of accidents, childbirth, or critical illnesses, a single donation can ignite hope and save precious lives,’ he stated.
Certificates were distributed to donors, ensuring they and their families could access free blood when needed. This initiative not only saves lives but builds a compassionate community network.
The CM made a heartfelt appeal to the youth: donate blood at least once a year and always follow traffic rules to safeguard lives. He extended gratitude to all participants, medical teams, and the health department, wishing the camp resounding success.
The foundation has pledged to collect 11,000 units of blood annually, coordinating with various blood banks to provide free supplies to the needy. A road safety awareness campaign was also launched alongside, reinforcing the theme of life protection.
Later, CM Sai visited Balak Ashram in Bagiya, Jashpur, bringing joy to the children. The atmosphere turned festive as he cut a cake with them, inquired about their studies and dreams, and fed them cake and chocolates personally.
Stroking their heads affectionately, he blessed them: ‘Study hard, dream big, and make your family and state proud.’ The children’s beaming smiles were, in his words, the best birthday gift, creating an unforgettable bond of warmth and inspiration.
