CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is set to embark on a significant one-day visit to Madurai on Saturday, focusing on inaugurating a series of crucial development projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, education, and rural welfare across the region.

Arriving at Madurai Airport, CM Stalin will head straight to the ELCOT Technology Park, where he will participate in an official event highlighting the state’s push towards technological advancement. From there, his itinerary includes the inauguration of a state-of-the-art capacity-building facility established by Pinnacle Industries, underscoring the government’s commitment to industrial growth.

The afternoon schedule intensifies with a visit to Thamukkam Maidanam, a central hub in the city. Here, Stalin will preside over the unveiling of a vital segment of a major highway project, enhancing connectivity and economic prospects for the area. Adding a historical touch, he will also virtually unveil statues of the revered freedom fighters, the Maruthu Pandiyar brothers, honoring their legacy in the fight for independence.

Education takes center stage next as the Chief Minister visits Meenakshi Government Women’s Arts College to open a brand-new computer lab. This initiative promises to equip students with modern digital resources, bridging the gap in educational infrastructure and empowering the next generation.

The tour extends to Vandiyur, where multiple developmental works await inauguration, including upgraded facilities at the Anguran Science Center and a new office building for the local panchayat. A key highlight is the launch of a rural drinking water supply project, set to benefit 867 families in nearby villages, addressing a pressing need for clean water access.

Midday offers a brief respite at the Madurai Guest House around 1:20 PM, followed by an evening engagement with DMK grassroots workers at a ruling party event. The day culminates at the Gandhi Memorial Museum’s Gandhi Mandapam for a program organized by the Jan Nyay Manch, wrapping up official duties.

By 6:30 PM, CM Stalin will depart Madurai Airport via a special flight back to Chennai, marking the end of a packed schedule. This visit exemplifies Tamil Nadu’s ongoing emphasis on infrastructure upgrades, educational enhancements, and rural development, signaling a brighter future for its citizens.
