In a sharp critique from Saharanpur, prominent Deobandi scholar and patron of Jamiat Dawat-ul-Muslimeen, Maulana Kari Ishak Gora, has voiced strong objection to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent comments on ‘Ghar Wapsi’. The revered cleric argued that such statements from a figure of Bhagwat’s stature are unbecoming and fuel unnecessary religious tensions.

Speaking exclusively to reporters, Maulana Gora described Bhagwat as a ‘sensible and respected individual’ whose words carry significant weight across India. ‘His slip of the tongue on Ghar Wapsi doesn’t suit him,’ he remarked, suggesting it might not have been intentional but could stem from ulterior motives. He dismissed a circulating video of Arshad Madani as old and irrelevant to the current discourse.

The Maulana warned that a select few are exploiting religion for political gains, inciting the public and sowing divisions through fear-mongering. ‘This is condemnable and weakens the nation,’ he asserted, urging leaders to avoid provocative rhetoric.

Turning to the controversy surrounding ‘The Kerala Story-2’, Gora lambasted Bollywood for losing credibility by producing films that target specific communities, instill fear, and propagate narratives of religious conversion or ‘Love Jihad’. He called these stories fabricated agendas, insisting the public is now too aware to be misled.

As debates on religious harmony intensify, Maulana Gora’s intervention highlights the need for responsible discourse from all quarters to preserve India’s secular fabric.
