New Delhi is gearing up for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams with a major boost from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). As lakhs of students head to exam centers starting February 17 and continuing until April 10, the metro has rolled out special measures to ensure smooth travel.
To prevent long queues at security checks and ticket counters, DMRC has collaborated with CISF personnel at key stations. Students flashing their CBSE admit cards will receive priority access during security screenings. Whether purchasing tokens from machines or customer care centers, exam-goers get fast-tracked service.
Special announcements will guide students through stations, making navigation hassle-free. This initiative addresses the massive scale of the exams: around 25 lakh students registered for Class 10 across 8,074 centers, and 18.5 lakh for Class 12 at 7,574 centers.
CBSE advises arriving well before 10 AM, as entry gates close sharply at that time. Exams run from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM in a single shift, with no late entries permitted.
Demographics highlight participation: Class 10 sees about 14 lakh boys and 10.9 lakh girls, while Class 12 has roughly 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls. These student-friendly steps by DMRC underscore the city’s commitment to supporting young scholars during this critical phase, potentially setting a model for other metros nationwide.
