New Delhi erupted in political fireworks on Friday as BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra unleashed a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party during a press conference. The trigger? Youth Congress workers staging a dramatic protest at the prestigious AI Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan.

Patra didn’t mince words, branding Rahul Gandhi as ‘the biggest traitor in the country’ for allegedly tarnishing India’s global image. He accused the protesters of deliberately sabotaging a landmark international event showcasing India’s technological prowess.

The controversy unfolded amid the high-profile AI Summit, attended by representatives from over 100 countries, including heads of state from 20 nations and ministers from 60 others. Thousands of global CEOs, researchers, policymakers, and startup leaders gathered, with more than 250,000 registered participants.

Four Youth Congress activists—Krishna Hari (National Secretary), Kundan Yadav (Bihar Secretary), Ajay Kumar (UP Vice President), and Narsimha Yadav (National Coordinator)—were arrested after stripping off their T-shirts to reveal protest slogans. Patra revealed they had registered officially, obtained barcodes, and entered wearing inverted T-shirts to conceal messages before launching their demonstration.

According to Patra, this was a meticulously planned operation orchestrated at Rahul Gandhi’s residence in the presence of Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi. ‘This wasn’t just any event; it was India’s moment on the world stage,’ he emphasized, highlighting how the summit symbolized the nation’s startup ecosystem, youth talent, and tech capabilities—milestones India had never achieved before.

Patra lambasted Congress for failing to grasp that the summit represented India, not the BJP. ‘At a time when India’s global stature is soaring, such antics are a shameful attempt to belittle our youth’s potential and national achievements,’ he said. Youth across India, especially Gen Z, are outraged, he added, viewing the protest as a direct assault on the country’s reputation.

The BJP leader warned that such conspiracies to damage India’s image would not be tolerated, urging the nation to rally behind its progress. As the AI Summit continues to spotlight India’s innovations, this political clash underscores deepening divides ahead of key electoral battles.
