New Delhi buzzed with diplomatic energy on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a series of high-level bilateral meetings with global leaders. These discussions underscored India’s growing role in fostering international collaboration on artificial intelligence, trade, and innovation.

In one significant encounter, PM Modi met with Hereditary Prince Alois Philipp Maria of Liechtenstein. The two leaders reviewed bilateral ties across various sectors and agreed to deepen cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, AI, innovation, and skill development. This push aligns with the momentum from the India-EFTA TEPA framework, signaling promising avenues for economic partnership.

Another pivotal meeting was with Slovak Republic President Peter Pellegrini. The agenda spanned trade, investment, digital technology, defense, space, energy, culture, and people-to-people linkages. Both sides welcomed the renewed vigor in relations following the landmark India-EU FTA and the India-EU Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda 2030. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening India-Slovak ties in the digital sector for mutual benefit.

President Pellegrini later shared his thoughts on X, congratulating PM Modi on the well-organized summit that brought together leaders, innovators, and businesses to advance responsible AI growth and global cooperation. He stressed the need to democratize AI so its benefits reach everyday people, not just a select few. The duo also focused on concrete outcomes in trade and investment, alongside deeper collaboration in innovation, secure technologies, and talent exchange, including academic and expert swaps in the energy sector.

PM Modi also held talks with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, covering developmental issues across multiple domains. These interactions highlight India’s proactive diplomacy at the intersection of technology and global governance.

As the summit progresses, these bilateral engagements reinforce India’s vision of leveraging AI for inclusive progress while bolstering strategic partnerships worldwide. The outcomes promise to shape future collaborations in an increasingly interconnected world.
