In a swift operation, Delhi Police unveiled the chilling details behind a brutal murder at a petrol pump in Rohini, arresting two perpetrators just 72 hours after the crime. The incident, which shocked the local community, occurred on February 16 when an unidentified man was found stabbed and unconscious near the pump in Sector 23.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajiv Ranjan addressed the media, revealing how the Begumpur police station team sprang into action. Eyewitnesses reported the victim, later identified as Amarnath Yadav, collapsed around 6:56 PM with deep knife wounds on his chest. Officers rushed him to SGM Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The murder appeared to be a robbery gone wrong, with the assailants snatching Yadav’s mobile phone. An FIR was promptly registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Led by the Station House Officer, a dedicated team combed the crime scene with help from the Mobile Crime Team and FSL Rohini experts, collecting crucial forensic evidence.

Intensive questioning of street vendors, CCTV monitors, and scrap collectors yielded vital leads. Technical surveillance and a tip-off pinpointed two suspects spotted on a grey scooter near the scene—known addicts from GTB Colony in Rohini. On February 19, 29-year-old Rohit was nabbed, and during interrogation, he confessed to partnering with accomplice Durgesh alias Durgi.

Police swiftly arrested Durgesh from his hideout. From their directions, they recovered the victim’s phone, another eyewitness’s device, the murder weapon—a knife—the getaway scooter, and blood-stained clothes worn during the crime. This rapid breakthrough underscores Delhi Police’s commitment to justice, bringing closure to a grieving family and restoring faith in law enforcement amid rising urban crime concerns.
