New Delhi’s India AI Impact Summit 2026 has been a resounding success, according to Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. Speaking on the sidelines, he highlighted how the event showcased India’s ambitious roadmap for artificial intelligence to global leaders.

The summit served as a vital platform, bringing together policymakers, industry titans, and innovators to witness India’s comprehensive AI strategies. Chandrasekaran emphasized the event’s role in uniting key stakeholders under one roof.

A major highlight was the partnership between OpenAI and the Tata Group to build AI-powered data centers tailored for local needs. Designed with data residency, security, and long-term domestic capacity in mind, this collaboration marks a game-changer.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Hypervolt data center will welcome OpenAI as its inaugural client, starting at 100 megawatts and scaling up to 1 gigawatt. This infrastructure will enable OpenAI’s cutting-edge models to operate securely within India, ensuring low latency, compliance, and suitability for critical government and enterprise applications.

‘This strategic alliance with OpenAI is a pivotal milestone in India’s journey to become a global AI frontrunner,’ Chandrasekaran stated. He expressed delight in establishing state-of-the-art AI infrastructure alongside OpenAI.

Looking ahead, the partnership aims to transform industries, upskill India’s youth, and empower them for success in the AI era. Tata Group plans to roll out ChatGPT Enterprise across its workforce, beginning with TCS’s millions of employees, positioning it among the world’s largest enterprise AI deployments.

The summit not only spotlighted these initiatives but also reinforced India’s commitment to ethical, innovative AI development on the world stage.
