New Delhi, February 20 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched its Class 12 Science stream major exams across India and abroad today. Thousands of students are appearing for the crucial Physics paper on this Friday, marking the start of core subjects. Chemistry and Biology tests will follow in the coming days, keeping aspirants on their toes.
Meanwhile, Class 10 students are also in the midst of their board exams, tackling subjects like Data Science, Beauty and Wellness, and Marketing today. The CBSE board exams for both Classes 10 and 12 commenced simultaneously on February 17, with sessions starting promptly at 10:30 AM across all designated centers.
Official updates from CBSE indicate smooth operations at all exam venues so far, with no reports of disruptions or tensions. Mayank Sharma, a Class 12 Science student at one of the centers, shared his enthusiasm. ‘This is my first major exam, and I’m not nervous at all. I’m excited about pursuing engineering ahead,’ he said confidently, predicting a strong performance.
These exams span 26 countries, underscoring CBSE’s global footprint. Over 4.367 million students are registered this year – more than 2.5 million for Class 10 and about 1.859 million for Class 12. CBSE has introduced key reforms, including biannual board exams for Class 10, enhanced expert evaluation for Science and Social Science, and digital on-screen marking for Class 12 to boost transparency and accuracy.
The first day saw Class 10 students facing Mathematics and Class 12 tackling Biotechnology. Yesterday, February 19, Class 12 papers included Engineering Graphics, Dance Forms, and Gardening. Today’s Physics exam is pivotal for Science streamers aiming for top engineering colleges.
CBSE experts recommend simple yoga practices like Tree Pose (Vrikshasana), deep breathing, and forward bends to maintain focus and reduce stress during exams. All centers are fully equipped, and the board urges students and parents to uphold discipline for seamless conduct.
