New Delhi is buzzing as global leaders and experts converge for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, a landmark event marking the first time such a gathering is hosted in the Global South. Delegates from diverse nations are sharing insights on harnessing artificial intelligence to tackle pressing challenges in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and beyond.
Mohammad Diabi, Head of the Digital Transformation Delivery Unit, emphasized the inclusive nature of AI. ‘This is a global initiative, and African countries must be part of it,’ he stated. ‘We’re here to explore innovations that can address our sectoral hurdles through partnerships with stakeholders, institutions, and technical partners.’
From Croatia, Branimir Farkas, Political Counselor and DCM at the Embassy, highlighted key messages from Prime Minister Modi and French President Macron. ‘Their speeches underscored how AI should align with our civilizational values,’ he noted.
Vassilios Michael Karkatzounis from Greece’s Digital Governance Ministry called the summit essential. ‘India hosting this is fantastic, especially with President Macron’s nod to Greece,’ he said. ‘Building global consensus on AI rules is vital—we need frameworks that support humans, not replace them.’
Vassilis Koutsoumpas, Digital Policy and AI Advisor in the Greek PM’s office, stressed inclusive AI. ‘No one should be left behind; tech dividends must spread everywhere,’ he remarked, echoing sentiments from Modi, Macron, and Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Italy’s Aurora Russi, Minister Counselor at the Embassy, welcomed the event. ‘Italy shares India’s human-centric values, adding immense value to this summit.’
Greek diplomat Alexandros Boudouris praised Modi’s address. ‘Having lived in Delhi for three years, I see India’s humane civilization as ideal for solving AI-related human impact issues.’
