New Delhi, February 19. In the riveting TV series ‘Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunari: Bindani’ airing on Sun Neo, actress Shreya Jain embodies Vaishnavi, a character at the heart of Rajasthan’s cultural clash between age-old customs and modern sensibilities. Currently the talk of the town, Shreya uses her role to spotlight the emptiness of outdated traditions that stifle women’s progress.
Speaking exclusively to a news agency, Shreya delved into her portrayal. ‘Vaishnavi respects traditions but refuses to follow them blindly,’ she explained. ‘She’s a modern woman who questions norms, seeks understanding, and demands equality in relationships. Through her, we challenge societal views that still confine women to rigid boundaries.’
Vaishnavi’s strength lies in her progressive mindset, craving transparency and fairness in love and marriage. ‘No one side should hold all the power,’ Shreya emphasized, highlighting the character’s fight against one-sided dynamics.
For Shreya, hailing from Jaipur, the show is deeply personal. ‘Rajasthan’s culture, dialect, and vibe are part of my upbringing,’ she shared. ‘Playing Vaishnavi feels natural; it’s like living a piece of home on screen.’
Reflecting on her career, Shreya recalled her Mumbai journey wasn’t planned but supported by family. ‘I faced endless auditions, waits, and rejections—hallmarks of any actor’s path,’ she said. Her breakthrough came with the lead in ‘Udaariya,’ boosting her confidence and paving the way for roles like Bindani.
On acting, Shreya noted, ‘Confidence grows with experience, but a touch of nervousness keeps you sharp.’ She describes herself as hardworking, sensitive, and kind.
Fitness-wise, she advocates balanced diets, walks, and yoga, essential in an industry with erratic schedules. Her passions include space and astronomy, and she’s inspired by versatile performers whose depth fuels her growth.
