In a thrilling encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India posted a formidable 193/6 against Netherlands in their final Group A clash of the T20 World Cup 2026. The highlight was Shivam Dubey’s blistering 66 off 31 balls, featuring 10 boundaries including six massive sixes, propelling India to a challenging total.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss on Wednesday, India suffered an early blow losing Abhishek Sharma for a golden duck on the third ball of the innings. This was Abhishek’s third consecutive duck in the tournament, putting immediate pressure on the top order.

Ishan Kishan responded with a quickfire 18 off 7 balls, smashing a six and two fours in a 39-run stand with Tilak Varma off 23 deliveries. Kishan fell soon after, but Tilak steadied the ship with 31 runs laced with four boundaries, partnering captain Suryakumar Yadav for 30 runs.

At 69/3, Suryakumar and Dubey forged a crucial 41-run alliance off 27 balls, taking India past 110. Surya departed for 34 off 28, but Dubey unleashed havoc alongside Hardik Pandya. Their explosive 76-run stand off 35 balls featured Dubey’s onslaught and Pandya’s 30 off 21 with three sixes.

Logan van Beek starred with the ball for Netherlands, claiming 3 wickets, while Aryan Dutt took 2 and Kyle Klein 1. India’s playing XI included Ishan Kishan (wk), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh.

Netherlands will now chase 194, facing a daunting task against India’s bowling attack led by Bumrah and Chakaravarthy. Dubey’s innings has given India a strong chance to seal their group stage campaign on a high note.
