In a escalating controversy in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district, the upcoming film ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’ has ignited fierce backlash from the Yadav community. What began as street protests has now turned into a formal police action, with an FIR filed against the film’s producer, director, and lead actors.

The complaint was lodged on Wednesday at Dhanari police station in Gunnour tehsil by Arvind Kumar from Bhakaroli village, accompanied by over two dozen supporters. They allege that the film’s title and storyline deliberately insult the Yadav community’s sentiments, portraying them in a derogatory light that could tarnish their social image.

Demanding an immediate ban on the film’s release, the group highlighted how the movie mocks their cultural values. Police have named four individuals in the FIR: producer Sandeep Tomar, director Ankit Bhadana, actress Pragati Tiwari, and actor Vishal Mohan. An investigation is underway.

Protests have been raging in Sambhal and nearby areas for days. Demonstrators burned posters, trampled them underfoot, and warned cinema hall owners against screening the film set for February 27 release. The tension underscores deep sensitivities around community representation in Indian cinema, raising questions about creative freedom versus cultural respect.

As the release date approaches, authorities face mounting pressure to intervene, while the film team remains silent amid the uproar. This incident highlights the volatile intersection of entertainment and regional identities in India’s diverse society.
