Mumbai’s Central and Western Railway teams have cracked down on illegal advertising with a swift arrest in the city. On February 18, a joint operation led to the capture of a man caught red-handed pasting posters of a fake baba along Re Road near Mira Ali Dargah in Darukhana.
Acting on intelligence from informants and under directives from senior DSC/BB, the raid involved SIPF/G.K. Rai IT Cell, ASI P.K. Mishra from Central Railway, SIPF/S.K. Sony, and Western Railway personnel. They nabbed MD Razul, son of MD Nazir Andari, with posters worth around 15,000 rupees intended for railway premises to boost unauthorized business.
During interrogation, Razul confessed to using railway areas without permission. The case was registered at Wadala Police Station, revealing a wider network involved in printing and pasting these posters on train compartments. Investigations into printing agencies and pasting activities are ongoing.
Railway officials emphasized that such unauthorized actions threaten passenger safety and discipline. The operation used advanced surveillance and covert tactics to monitor suspects and secure the premises.
This arrest sends a strong message: violations in railway zones will not be tolerated. Authorities vow full legal action against all involved and enhanced security measures. The collaborative effort between railway police ensures rules are upheld, safeguarding millions of daily commuters.
