New Delhi witnessed a significant diplomatic arrival on Wednesday as Slovak Republic President Peter Pellegrini touched down at the airport to participate in the prestigious India-AI Impact Summit 2026. Welcoming the esteemed guest with warmth was Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, signaling strong bilateral ties.

The summit, a global congregation of leaders, delves deep into artificial intelligence’s transformative effects across education, healthcare, employment, security, media, business, and governance. President Pellegrini’s presence is poised to catalyze Indo-Slovak collaborations in cutting-edge technology, research, and innovation.

The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the occasion on X, noting, ‘President Pellegrini has arrived in New Delhi, greeted at the airport by MoS Jitendra Singh, underscoring the vibrant diplomatic engagement between our nations.’

Recognized as one of the world’s premier forums on AI, the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 will explore ethical AI frameworks, regulatory mechanisms, and how advanced technologies are reshaping industries and public services. Slovakia’s involvement promises richer discussions and actionable insights.

Spanning five days, the event draws participation from over 110 countries and 30 international organizations, including heads of state or top officials from about 20 nations and 45 ministers. This makes it one of the largest gatherings focused on AI governance and international cooperation.

Anchored in the theme ‘Sarva Jan Hitaya, Sarva Jan Sukhaya’ – meaning welfare and happiness for all – the summit aims to harmonize India’s civilizational values with modern technological advancements. As the fourth edition in the series, following events in the UK (2023), South Korea (2024), and France (2025), it serves as a vital platform for leaders to address AI’s ethical, economic, and social implications while bolstering partnerships in digital technology, trade, culture, tourism, and maritime cooperation.
