    In a significant boost to Bihar’s technological ambitions, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Bihar State Pavilion at the India AI Impact Summit and Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday. The event drew high-profile attendance, including Union Ministers Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying as chief guest, with Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh presiding over the proceedings.

    Bihar’s IT Minister Shreyasi Singh, Industry Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha were among the key dignitaries present. Senior officials like Chief Secretary Prayas Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary B. Rajendra, Industry Secretary Kundan Kumar, IT Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, Agriculture Director Saurabh Yadav, and IIT Patna professors also graced the occasion.

    The state government showcased its visionary initiatives to position Bihar as the technology hub of Eastern India. Highlights included the launch of the Bihar AI Mission with a mega AI Core of Engineering, partnerships with industry and academia, investment intent letters from leading investors, unveiling of state policies, inauguration of Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, and establishment of a Research Park at IIT Patna.

    As India emerges as a global leader in artificial intelligence, Bihar is carving its niche in the northeast. The new GCC, Semiconductor, and IT policies have sparked immense interest from global tech firms, promising transformative growth.

    The Bihar Pavilion, set up at Hall 5-F, Stalls 8 and 12, became the epicenter of deal-making. Key MoUs signed include ₹60 crore for the Bihar AI Centre of Excellence (AI CoE) with Tiger Analytics as industry partner and IIT Patna as academic collaborator, and a massive ₹250 crore for the IIT Patna Research Park. Additional agreements under Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and IT Policy 2024 with Red Cyber (₹103 Cr), GrowQR (₹30 Cr), CIPL (₹25 Cr), and others are set to create over 10,000 jobs in emerging tech sectors. Furthermore, AI-linked programs aim to skill 50,000+ youth.

    This five-day summit features over 100 tech CEOs, representatives from 135+ countries, heads of state from 20+ nations, and ministers from 50+ countries. Bihar’s recent policy approvals underscore its drive to become the premier global tech center for Eastern and Northeastern India, heralding a new era of innovation, incubation, and employment.
