In a thrilling T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan on Sunday, India’s left-handed batter Tilak Varma played a quickfire knock of 25 runs off 24 balls, smashing one six and two fours. This performance propelled him to the third spot in the all-time list of most sixes hit in India-Pakistan T20 encounters.

Tilak has been in scintillating form against Pakistan since 2025, featuring in four T20 matches where he amassed 155 runs at an impressive average of 77.50. His bat has produced eight sixes and nine fours during this period, showcasing his aggressive strokeplay.

Leading the charts is none other than Virat Kohli, who dominates with 492 runs in 11 matches from 2012 to 2024, at an average of 70.28. Kohli’s tally includes 11 sixes and a whopping 49 fours, underlining his mastery in these high-stakes games.

Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan occupies the second position with 155 runs in four innings at 38.75, blasting nine sixes and 11 fours. India’s Yuvraj Singh shares this spot with nine sixes and 10 fours across eight matches.

Further down, Abhishek Sharma, Rohit Sharma, and Mohammad Rizwan are tied with seven sixes each in fourth place, while Shaheen Afridi follows with six.

The match at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium saw India post 175 for seven, powered by Ishan Kishan’s explosive 77 off 40 balls and captain Suryakumar Yadav’s 25. Pakistan crumbled to 114 all out in 18 overs, with Usman Khan top-scoring on 44 and Shaheen Afridi adding 23.

Tilak’s rise in the record books adds another chapter to the fierce India-Pakistan rivalry, where every boundary echoes with history.
